Influence the Standards and Qualifications.

Members and Associate Members will:

be able and encouraged to actively participate in the development and maintenance of the occupational standards and qualifications

be able to influence the structure of international telecommunications vocational qualifications via TESSO.

have the opportunity to highlight their staff competencies via various standard setting forums. This will enable recognition and inclusion of those competencies in the occupational standards and resulting qualifications where appropriate.

Influence TESSO Policy

Members have voting rights at Annual General Meetings and will thereby be able to influence TESSO policy.

Membership Categories

TESSO wishes to actively encourage full representation of the industry when evolving the occupational standards and qualifications in conjunction with ETITO. This will enable the whole needs of the industry to be met. It is for this reason that membership criteria have been kept as simple as possible.

The criteria for membership are defined below. There are three categories of membership - Member, Associate Member and Honorary Associate Member.

Applications for membership will be considered by the TESSO Board. They will consider the nature of the applicant’s business and the membership category applied for before making their decision. The Board has the right to call for any further information they deem necessary to enable them to reach a decision.

Membership and Associate Membership is subject to acceptance by the Board. It will be limited to those companies, groups, organisations and representative bodies etc., who, in the Board’s view, can make a meaningful contribution to the work of TESSO.

Membership

Applicants for the category of Member are required to be employers of telecommunications staff.

Associate Membership

Applicants for the category of Associate Member are not themselves employers of telecommunications staff. Appropriate companies, groups, organisations and representative bodies etc. for this category, would be those that:-

are representative of their members and primarily financed by them.

offer telecommunications vocational training.

Honorary Associate Membership

This category is available by invitation only.

Additional Information

If the membership criteria create problems then TESSO are willing to discuss the issues with you. In such cases the TESSO would aim to facilitate your membership on a mutually agreeable basis.
